FAQ

Is reinforcing required in my concrete?

Steel reinforcing is required in concrete no matter how big or small the job may be. The reo is specially designed with ribs to grip to the concrete during the curing stages this helps minimise the movement causing your concrete to crack. Other precautions are needed as well as reinforcing such as a compacted sub base and making sure expansion foam is placed where needed.

Should I have saw cuts or wet joins?

Choosing between machine cuts or wet hand cuts is purely an aesthetic option if both are done correctly they both look and serve the same purpose.

Do I need construction joins in my concrete?

Yes construction joins are a must and can be no further than 3 mts apart.

Should I have my concrete sealed?

Sealing your concrete is a personal choice also, There are many benefits to sealing and i do recommend it. sealing protects your concrete and paving from the weather , oils, spills and keeps your product looking new for longer. But sealing must be re applied at least every four years or it will look drawn and begin to loose its protection.

Should I get colour through the mix or use toppings.

In my opinion Colour toppings is a better option it is much more cost effective and longer lasting . Many concrete contractors would disagree but I believe that is due to the hard work involved in applying the toppings and washing there clothes after.
